English IV A for Credit Recovery
Students must have already taken English IV, but not earned credit.
CDLS Credit Recovery (CR) courses are designed for students who have taken a course and failed it.
CR courses are organized so that students can take a pre-test for each lesson/unit. If the student passes the pre-test at a 75% mastery level, the student can move on to the next lesson/unit. All lessons/units must be passed at a 75% mastery level to complete the CR course.
English 4 Credit Recovery covers reading literature, reading informational text, applying language skills, writing (informational, narrative, and argument), researching and presenting strategies, and speaking and listening skills. Students will be exposed to literature on a deeper level, spending more time with one text and writing to that text. Choose pieces of literature that interest you; then analyze the subject matter and persuasively express your own ideas.
