French 4 - Semesters 1 & 2

2 Semesters (both semesters are offered during the Fall and Spring Terms)

In French 4, students concentrate on more proficient communication in French. Students and teachers communicate more in French in order to refine the skills of speaking, auditory and reading comprehension, and composition. Students apply previously learned verb tenses and are introduced to the remaining tenses and moods in the verb system. Units of study include more authentic readings and discussion of culture and personal opinions. At the completion of French IV, students should approach the Intermediate-Mid range of language acquisition descriptors as evidenced on classroom, district and/or national assessments.

Prerequisites: French 3
