IN-district programs
Information
The landscape of education in Colorado is evolving rapidly, with online learning becoming a key component of how students access coursework. Recent data from the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) shows that 33,629 students are enrolled in identified online schools statewide.
CDLS supports districts in creating in-district online programs to help retain students and funding. By developing a locally established online program, districts can:
-
Retain students who might otherwise leave for a fully online school.
-
Re-engage students who have already left by offering a familiar, community-anchored alternative.
-
Expand course offerings to include flexible and career-technical options not available in traditional settings.
-
Customize supports using district-employed educators who understand local contexts and student needs.
The information below is what you need to develop your own online program.
